Säljes: Drake TR4305 - HF Transceiver (prototype?)
I have decided to sell this radio ”as it is”. Sale includes a power lead, a microphone and a copy of the TR5 documentation.
The TR-5 was a last gasp, analogue HF transceiver produced by Drake in a futile effort to combat the invasion of transceivers from Japan. The TR-5s main claim to fame is their rarity, as their performance is modest and they are not as capable as the TR-7 which came before.
I have been informed that this radio (S/N: 133) is one of only 50 produced (S/N: 101 - 150).
I have powered the radio on and it works on all bands as i have temporarily fixed the band selection switch was very stiff BUT I do NOT wish to damage the radio as I have been told these switches are difficult to replace! This radio appears to be a selectable (vfo???) frequency band model.
Several controls on the front panel are dummy controls and have no function!
The channelisation is synthesizer controlled, but you can plug a standard Drake RV-7 external VFO into the back to give you dual receive or a more normal VFO (NOT available with this sale).
The Drake TR-4305 may have been originally intended for government / commercial. A clue as to where it was used comes from the frequencies that it was used on (embassies, government, civil service, etc.) but this is an amateur band frequency only radio!
Additional close up photos of the front, back and inside available on request and if you have any questions, please ask. Collection preferred due to the delicate nature of this radio.
Pris: 4950 SEK
